As a committed atheist I must say, I find everything in the preceding song, repugnant. I don't believe in any God figure or a fairy tale story of his son, Jesus Christ coming to Earth to save us from our own sins. But, the incredible voice and melody of this great artist moves me to like the song, though its lyrics are anathemic to me. It's straight from the 2nd century Christian writer St. Thomas Aquinas, as he declares in each stanza. Aquinas did do much to set back the tide of scientific inquiry.
Well as a final statement, I make a mundane comment: we can like a thing for its beauty, but abhor its meaning.
