Homem Aranha (Cantor: Jorge Vercilo)

Spiderman (Singer: Jorge Vercilo)

Eu adora andar no abismo

I adore walking on the edge

Numa noite fria e perseguição,
saltando entre os edifícios, vi você

In the cold night and persecution

Leaping between the buildings, I see you

Em poder de um fugitivo que cercado pela polícia.

Could it be a fugitive surrounded by the cops?

te fez refém , lá nos precipícios.

And you're a hostage, there at the edge of a building.

Foi paixão á primeira vista,
me joguei de onde o céu arranha,

It was passion I first saw,

as I played around where I could scratch the sky.

te salvando com minha teia

Leaping to you with my web

prazer me chamam de homem aranha,
seu herói.

In fun, they call me spiderman, your hero.

Hoje o herói aguenta o peso das compras do mês,
no telhado ajeitando antena da tv,
acordado á noite inteira pra ninar bebê...

Today the hero balanced the weight of a month’s groceries, then

On the roof adjusting the TV antenna, then

He was up the whole night cradling a baby

Chega de bandidos pra pender,
de balas perdidas pra deter.

He arrives hanging over the crooks

Dodges the bullets and stops them.

Eu tenho uma idéia, você na minha teia.

I have an idea of you in my web

Chega de assaltos para impedir, seja em brasília o aqui,
eu tive a grande idéia, você na minha teia.

He comes to stop the attack, it might be in Brasilia or here,

I might have a great idea, you in my web.

Hoje eu estou nas suas mãos,dessa sua ingênua sedução.
Que me pegou na veia,eu tô na tua teia

Today I am in your hands, in your girlish seduction.

That you stuck to my veins, and I’m so in your web.

As you can see this song is based on the Spiderman movie theme. Yet, somehow it's something quite different, don't you agree? Regardless, Vercilo gives us a very hip song here. By the way, 'aranha' is spider in Portuguese, and 'arranha' is the present tense of 'scratch'. You can't imagine how much misspelling that extra little 'r' caused me in translating this song properly.
